An ode to the quiet beauty beneath the canopy, Understory No. 3 features the delicate structure of a drying sawtooth palmetto branch. Captured through the historic cyanotype process, this image is both minimal and mysterious, revealing shapes and form only time and light can create.
The final image—ethereal and richly toned in deep indigo—was shaped by the elements themselves. From full sun to overcast skies, even a passing breeze left its mark on the exposure, making this piece entirely unique. Part of my ongoing exploration with alternative photography, this artwork is both a study in nature and an expression of the unpredictable beauty of the cyanotype process.
